AgentOne Docs

Deep Links

Open AgentOne from other apps and websites with agent-one:// links.

AgentOne registers the agent-one:// link type, so links on websites, in documents, or in other apps can open AgentOne and start an action. If AgentOne is already open, the link brings it to the front.

All links include a version parameter, v=1.

Start a New Chat

agent-one://new-chat?v=1&message=<text>

Opens a new chat. If you include message (URL-encoded), it's typed into the message box for you. AgentOne doesn't send it until you press Enter.

Example:

agent-one://new-chat?v=1&message=Summarize%20today's%20top%20tech%20news

Install an Extension

agent-one://mcp/install?v=1&name=<name>&config=<json>

Opens Extensions with the Add Custom Extension form filled in, so the person can review it and click Add Custom. See Custom Extensions.

ParameterRequiredDescription
nameYesThe extension's name.
configYesURL-encoded JSON. For a remote server: {"type":"http","url":"https://..."}. For a local server: {"command":"npx","args":["-y","package-name"]}.

Example (remote):

agent-one://mcp/install?v=1&name=Linear&config=%7B%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.linear.app%2Fmcp%22%7D

Extension authors

You can add an "Add to AgentOne" button to your README or website with a link like the one above. AgentOne always asks people to review the details before installing.

Scheduled Agent Runs

agent-one://cron?v=1&id=<id>

Your operating system's scheduler uses this link to start a scheduled agent. You don't need to use it yourself.

  • Open AgentOne at least once after installing so it can register the link type.
  • On Linux, AgentOne registers the link type each time it starts. If you use the AppImage, integrate it with your desktop (see Linux troubleshooting).
  • Links with an unknown action or a different version are ignored.
