AgentOne Docs

Data Locations

Where AgentOne stores your chats, settings, API keys, scheduled agents, and logs on each operating system.

AgentOne stores everything on your computer, in folders named after its app ID, dev.agent-one.

App Data

Your chats, the extension list, and scheduled agents are stored here:

OSFolder
macOS~/Library/Application Support/dev.agent-one/
Windows%APPDATA%\dev.agent-one\
Linux~/.config/dev.agent-one/
FileContains
agent-one.dbYour chats and their search index
mcp-registry.dbThe downloaded extension list
crons.jsonYour scheduled agents

The downloaded model list (model-directory.json), custom fonts (custom-fonts/), and custom chat backgrounds (chat-backgrounds/) are stored in the app's local data folder. On macOS that's the same folder as above. On Windows it's %LOCALAPPDATA%\dev.agent-one\, and on Linux ~/.local/share/dev.agent-one/.

Most settings are stored in the app's built-in web storage.

API Keys

API keys and your sign-in token are stored in your system's secure credential store:

OSStore
macOSKeychain
WindowsCredential Manager
LinuxSecret Service (GNOME Keyring or KWallet)

On Linux, if no keyring is available, keys are kept in a local file next to agent-one.db and moved to the keyring once one is available.

Logs

OSFolder
macOS~/Library/Logs/dev.agent-one/
Windows%LOCALAPPDATA%\dev.agent-one\logs\
Linux~/.local/share/dev.agent-one/logs/

See Logs & Diagnostics.

Scheduled Agent Jobs

Each scheduled agent is also registered with your system's scheduler:

OSWhere
macOSA launchd agent in ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
WindowsA task in Task Scheduler
LinuxA systemd user timer in ~/.config/systemd/user/

AgentOne manages these for you. Use the Scheduled Agents page to change or delete them instead of editing them by hand.

Back up the app data folder before deleting or moving anything. Deleting agent-one.db permanently deletes all of your chats.
